The General manager is a key member of the laundry operation and responsible to get the work out to the customers in an efficient, cost effective manner.

Now, if you were to come on board as our General Manager, Laundry Operation, we’d ask you to do the following for us:
Oversee the daily operation of the production floor
Handle production scheduling, supervisor scheduling and shift assignments
Ensure the completion of hourly employee training including all regulatory, company based and safety
Chair the plant safety committee
Handle all productivity tracking and monitoring through plant specific tracking methods and Key Indicator report
Lead, coach and develop team members
Handle ordering and tracking of purchases and linen
Conduct team meetings and training sessions for staff
Review and manage costs and expenses within the day to day operation of the plant
Oversee all accident investigations and corrective actions
Handle customer service and client support issues
Participate in client Linen Committees
Assist with the accurate billing and distribution of linen to end users

Past experience with, and technical knowledge of, running a laundry plant
Degree or diploma preferred
Understanding of methods of laundry processing including time and motion
Knowledge of health and safety and regulatory requirements in a production environment
Intermediate level proficiency with Word, Excel, email and automated billing systems
Understanding of basic financials and P&L statement
Basic mechanical aptitude
Knowledge of universal precautions and basic washroom chemistry
Ability to handle a high pressure production environment
Strong customer service skills and ability to develop relationships with all levels of the organization and customer base
Capable of understanding Key Indicators of the business and developing solutions to problems and issues
Leadership skills to engage and motivate a diverse group of employees to achieve the desired goals and objectives of the organization
Solid verbal and written communication skills
