We have Developer Co-op opportunities with our Enterprise Enabling Technology Solutions group in Toronto, ON.

Description of Business
FASST Department is the technology solutions area for Corporate Finance, Audit and Strategic Sourcing departments. Within our area we support Financial and Management reporting, Treasury and Balance Sheet, Regulatory reporting , data warehousing needs as well as Audit segment needs. EETS provides technical support to a wide range of applications and technologies and works with Information Technology Services, Business, Project Management Office, and Finance Production Support teams on new project deliveries

Job Description

How You Will Contribute
We have opportunities on various EETS teams and job responsibilities for students will vary by area. This may include, but is not limited to the following:

Assist in the development/maintenance of comprehensive processes for prevention of issues and participate in problem determination and timely resolution of incidents applying appropriate quality measures
Create and maintains quality code, consistent with quality standards; provide code maintenance and support during testing cycles and post-production deployment
Ensure defect free programming by testing and debugging using available/appropriate tools and participate in reviewing peer coding
Work with other Developers and Solution Designers to ensure that the configuration and custom components meet application requirements and performance goals
Deliver effective and efficient solutions by meeting key project milestones and overall project deliverables on time, within budget, and adhering to development and quality standards
Inform the Solution Designer, Technology Project Manager or Development Manager of any issues that may affect other areas of the project
Support business enquiries and business activities through execution of small enhancements and break/fix implementations
Comply with the system development life cycle (SDLC) and project management methodology (PDLC) - including creation of project documentation of system requirements, estimates of scope and cost, etc.
Document the application to facilitate maintenance
Continuously enhance knowledge/expertise in own area and keep current with leading-edge technologies trends/developments and develop expertise in TD services, applications, infrastructure, analytical tools and techniques that can contribute to effective solution development/delivery
Conduct program/ system research, analysis, detailed design and problem resolution
Adhere to standard security coding practices to ensure application is free of most common coding vulnerabilities

Job Requirements

What You Bring to TD

Must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree majoring in relevant technology programs, such as Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology Management, Business Technology Risk Management, Financial Analysis and Risk Management, Computing, etc.
Practical experience / knowledge in any of the following (Management reporting, Data modelling, SQL, Oracle, MS SQL , DB2, and Database Development.)
Experience with some databases (SQL2008, SQL 2012, DB2), SSIS package development
Familiarity with Visual Studio .net , VBA Excel Macros. Unix/Linux scripting, Talend, GIT
Experience and familiarity with Microsoft technologies (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
Good English verbal and written communication skills
Ability to liaise and gather information from business and technology partners
Good analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems and issues effectively and quickly.
Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced and multi-cultural environment
Team player, high initiative and quick learner
Codes, tests and debugs unit level programs according to specifications from senior staff

Skills that would be an asset, but are not required:
Interest in Warehousing technologies
Interest or aptitude in Financial Systems and the Financials Industry
Familiar with Cloud technology
