Job Type: Full-time (75 hours bi-weekly)
Shift: Day, Afternoon, Midnights as needed. Rotating every other weekend.

Interprets nursing philosophy, and in collaboration with the Director of Care and nursing team establishes and implements goals and objectives.
Acts as a mentor for Registered Staff and non-Registered Staff and provides teaching in the clinical areas, conflict and problem resolutions, communication, personal and professional growth.
Provides mentoring and coaching in regards to the clinical required programs (skin, falls, pain, etc.), compliance with facility policies/procedures, required legislation and prevailing best practices
Assists and takes part in the onboarding and retention of nursing/care employees.
Implements, evaluates and supports new care programs/initiatives and services based on best practices with the support of the Director of Care.
Communicates risk issues to the Director of Care.
Fosters and promotes effective communication at change of shift.
Provides hands on support and mentoring to staff regarding clinical software programs.
Stays current with any new evidence best practices and research in Long Term Care and disseminates this information to management and staff.
Ongoing communication with Director of Care on identification of deficiencies and plans to address them including timelines and assessing effectiveness.
Registered Nurse (BScn or Diploma)
Registered as an RN in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
Current First Aid and CPR certification
Knowledge of best practice guidelines and experience in implementation is an asset
Current RAI-MDS, RAPS and QI experience considered an asset
Prior managerial experience in long term care considered an asset
Experience with quality improvement processes considered an asset
Current vulnerable sector screening; valid within 6 months
TB 2 step screening; within 6 months is also required
