Overview:

Reports to: Site Manager

Direct Reports: Production Scheduler, Production Planner

Job Purpose:
The Master Scheduler is responsible for the development and preparation of daily/weekly production schedules and optimization of all production resources at the Brampton Site to meet customer expectations and for the planning and monitoring of inventory levels. The Master scheduler also coordinates communication data flow between production, supply chain and sales, to ensure that CMS (ERP) is aligned with desired business processes.

Job Duties:
Manage Production planning and scheduling activities.
Lead and mentor production schedulers/planners.
Prepare and distribute production schedules, monitor schedule attainment and follow-up significant concerns with production and/or management on daily basis.
Review customer requirements far enough in advance to detect potential problems in meeting those customer requirements. This process must occur in a timeframe that allows for corrective actions to be taken in order to minimize the impact to the customer.
Work closely with cross-functional teams on containment and countermeasures when needed to ensure OTIF targets are met.
Manage and coordinate creation and updating of all engineering changes and BOM’s, to ensure that product is available to meet launch date and volume.
Liaise with Quality Assurance and Sales on quality issues that affect deliveries, communicate scheduling deviations to Customer Service and maintain up to date system files regarding new or changing data.
Assist the Distribution team in maintenance and optimization of inventory.
Continuously evaluate and adjust inventory buffers based on demand variability, desired customer service levels and process capabilities.
Take initiative to minimize overall system obsolescence exposure. Use problem solving methodology to determine root cause(s) and prevent recurrence of materials related issues.
Provide daily/weekly/monthly inventory reports to ensure resources/inventory are available to meet customer demand.
Manage Capacity planning and preventative maintenance scheduling.
Identify, report and recommend solutions on capacity restrictions for the purpose of proactive planning and elimination of bottlenecks that affect capacity planning.
Schedule and coordinate with production and maintenance, machine and tools maintenance and/or overhauls.
Ensure routine communications sessions take place with Production, Customer Service, Warehouse and Quality Assurance.
Perform any other duties assigned by Management.

Job Requirements:
Minimum 5 years relevant experience in manufacturing production control and inventory.
Diploma in Business and/or APICS certification an asset.
Management experience in a fast paced, high volume environment is preferred.
Knowledge of extrusion, thermoforming and assembly technology is preferred.
Ability to work under pressure and multitask in a fast paced, growth environment with many competing priorities and deadlines.
Flexibility of work hours required to deal with problems after-hours.
Strong understanding of ERP Software.
Strong skills with Microsoft Excel.
