The incumbent is responsible for developing and implementing effective approved national training and development programs that will deliver on Essilor Canada’s demanding business and sales objectives for all core business partners. Core business partners include external and internal partners:

  • External: iECPs and Wholesale/Canoptec customers;
  • Internal: iECPs sales team, Inside sales team, Customer Experience team, Wholesale/Canoptec sales team.


  • Act as feet on the street link for comprehensive training needs analysis with core business partners to determine exact training requirements and development on agreed KPIs;
  • Participate in the development of approved national training programs, curriculum and content to fulfill requirements of external partners (all training will include a call to action);
  • Deliver approved national training programs with core business partners. This includes facilitation of face to face and web-based training, field training, coaching for results and retraining when required.

External: identified iECPs and Wholesale/Canoptec customers
o iECPs: In-office seminars, group events with key accounts and buying groups
o Wholesale/Canoptec: Group training events, specific training opportunities
o In tradeshows and tours: Identified seminars
o Schools and universities
Internal: iECPs sales team, Inside sales team, Customer Experience team, Wholesale/Canoptec sales team
o NSM and summer workshop: workshop and accreditation design and facilitation for all business partners
o On boarding for new employees for all business partners
o Sales-force field coaching – Ride-along
o Specific training needs deployed with core business partner.

  • Participate in the coordination of the online training platform - contact participants and partner with global training organization to update and share training;
  • Develop systems and procedures to reinforce and support training. Ensure that sales processes are being implemented;
  • Ensure programs are properly implemented and that Essilor Canada is achieving expected results by measuring the impact and effectiveness of training. This would include communicating regularly and systematically with core business partners on plans, status and results.


  • University degree in education or science, degree related to optics (licensed optician, a strong asset)
  • Minimum of 5 years of successful training experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of successful Sales experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of successful optics experience
  • Excellent understanding of the optical industry
  • Licensed optician
  • Excellent mastery of PowerPoint
  • Excellent knowledge of training design (educational approach + pedagogy + PowerPoint use)
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to engage audience and transfer knowledge (vulgarization + motivational + passion)
  • Ability to create a trust-based relationship in order to provide constructive feedback
  • Leadership and teamwork (ability to build strategic relationships within the company)
  • Ability to make decisions in complex and changing environment
  • Strong skills in human relations
  • Strong ability to work and share to elevate the team’s results

  • Bilingual - French and English - both spoken and written
  • Must be able to travel 30% of the time, mostly in his region
