What it’s like working at CBC/Radio-Canada

At CBC/Radio-Canada, we create content that informs, entertains and connects Canadians on multiple platforms. Our successes and accomplishments are driven by embodying and upholding values, which include creativity, integrity, inclusiveness and relevance.

Do you think you have the ability and drive to lead new initiatives in the Strategic Digital Growth and Distribution team? You would be joining a commercial division that thrives on making connections and distributing content that is important to Canadians.

As a leader of new business, motivating those around you with progressive new opportunities will come naturally. You bring fresh perspectives to traditional ways of thinking, and are focused on inspiring colleagues and business contacts to innovate new solutions that build upon our unique heritage.

What’s in it for you

You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to a unique organization with a longstanding place in Canada’s cultural landscape, and represent the ongoing production of News, Sports, Radio and Entertainment content that few organizations can rival. As a CBC Radio-Canada business development lead, you will work alongside our senior team, and be empowered to negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements with representatives from the largest digital media organizations worldwide.

What you bring

Flexibility and innovativeness to craft a vision for net-positive new opportunities.
Excellence in building rapport across a variety of personalities, cultures and ranks.
Judgment to identify, elevate and actively manage risks.
Advanced analytical insight to identify and estimate costs and benefits.
Grit to preserve and champion initiatives, despite complexity.

We are looking for a candidate with the following:
A university degree in Business or Media, with at least three (3) years of related professional experience. An MBA is considered an asset.
Experience in a business development role, with demonstrable expertise on digital ad sales. Knowledge of CBC/Radio-Canada is an asset.
Experience with computers, and working knowledge of MS Office and Google suite of products.
An understanding of contract and legal management, media platforms, technology and rights.
Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.
