We are currently recruiting for a Finance Manager – Loss Fund Accounting/Treasury to join our team in Kitchener, ON.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the financial management of the business including but not limited to corporate liquidity, investments, and risk management related to the company's financial activities.
Monitor adherence to project budgets, reports and recommends corrective actions
Interact with VP Finance to develop budgets for future periods
Ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements
Forecast cash flow positions, related borrowing needs, and funds available for investment
Using hedging to mitigate financial risks related to the interest rates on the company’s borrowings, as well as on its foreign exchange positions
Manage banking relationships with designated banks for the business unit or project funds
Establish and maintains appropriate controls over project and Centre bank accounts
Arrange for equity financing and debt financing
Approve capital/leasehold expenditures also subject to corporate approval
Conduct applicable performance reviews and manage employee absence/vacation data
Oversee compensation, identify training requirements, assess staffing needs and recruit
Maintain compliance with Code of Conduct and general financial compliance rules
Bachelor’s degree or in accounting, finance, or related discipline
5-7 years’ experience in a financial role
Thorough understanding of accounting policies and procedures, and branch operations
Ability to interpret and analyze financial reports and results
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities
Analytical and mathematical thinker
Excellent computer skills and understanding of financial applications software and database
Past experience in related roles such as: Finance Manager, Finance Director, Commercial Cash Manager, Financial Controller or Treasury and Risk Manager would be considered an asset
