Communications/Research Assistant

Conservation Visions
St. John's, NL

We are seeking a skilled writer-analyst to perform a variety of communications, analytical, and administrative tasks at Conservation Visions, a private company dedicated to international wildlife conservation. The successful candidate will have, minimally, a bachelor's degree (or academic equivalent) and at least 2 years experience working in communications/research or a related field. A masters degree will be considered a strong asset. The successful candidate will have very strong verbal and written communications skills in English, as well as familiarity writing in a variety of styles including academic, popular, and technical. The successful candidate will possess a high competency in desk top academic research, analysis, and synthesis. Past experience in policy analysis will be considered a significant asset. Knowledge of, and experience with, word processing and document formatting is vital, and fluency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is also required. Strong interpersonal skills are essential. All candidates should be well-read, detail-oriented, proven efficient multi-taskers, and well-suited to work independently, while providing weekly progress reports. A writing sample will be requested from applicants who qualify for interviews and written references must accompany all applications. Salary is competitive and can be discussed with the successful candidate.

Salary: From $22.00 per hour
