In your role of Greens Helper you assist with the maintenance of the golf course grounds and all its amenities, coordinating with the pro shop, golfers and resort management as needed. Your goal is for those golfing on your course to have the pleasure of experiencing a course that is well maintained and kept in pristine condition. In the role of Greens Helper you will:
Be a Keeper of the Course --In your role you make all beautiful. Duties include mowing the fairways, rough, green's tees and apron and placing tee markers and pin holes. You will be involved in whipping the grass, shoveling, gardening (including weeding, dead heading and watering), raking sand traps, pruning trees, watering the grass areas and helping to dig trenches for irrigation and drainage as needed. You will also assist as needed in the construction and building of tee's, fairways, roughs, greens and sand traps and be responsible for disposing of any environmental hazardous materials used in your role according to law.
Be a Team Player -- you may be asked to assist with special project duties from time to time, as well as with other golf course related roles as the team supports each other and does what is needed to make the guest experience a great one.
Be a Safety & Security Agent -- following your hotel's established safety and security policies and procedures. Anticipate problems and call management as needed.
Two years of experience preferred working on the daily maintenance of a golf course facility or in the landscaping field. Must be able to operate any piece of equipment that is used in the day-to-day maintenance of a golf course, e.g. greens mower, fair way mower, lawn mower, grass trimmer and irrigation and hand tools. This role is exposed to a variety of outdoor weather conditions, has variable shifts and requires flexibility in hours including weekends (with potential short notice), works around chemical/fumes/ odor/hazards, and needs to be able to spend long hours walking around. Must be able to prioritize quickly and be able to effectively listen to and understand information as well as to clarify and convey information. Medium work -- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
