Job Description:
Since its reopening in 1988, Sleeman Breweries has grown
to become the third-largest brewer in Canada. Formed by
merging three of Canada’s best craft breweries and
acquired in 2006 by Sapporo Breweries, we’ve built an
incredible portfolio of beer brands in Canada; great
Canadian brands such as Sleeman, Okanagan Spring and
Unibroue, combined with world-class beers such as
Sapporo, Old Milwaukee and Pabst Blue Ribbon. After all,

Supervise a warehouse crew to ensure the highest levels
of productivity, efficiency, quality, and customer
service at the lowest cost. Coordinate all resources
(labour, material, equipment) to ensure schedules are
attained in a safe, timely manner. Supervise 6-25 hourly
warehouse employees.
  • Directly supervise the activities of approximately
6-25 warehouse employees in accordance with established
standard operating procedures (SOPs) to meet scheduled
  • Monitor shipping and receiving schedules and carrier
appointment times and ensure work is performed in
accordance. Inform appropriate parties of issues as
  • Work with managers and peers to recommend changes to
and implement regional warehouse processes and
  • Work closely with relevant departments to ensure that
internal and external customers are being adequately
  • Ensure a safe and healthy workplace and identify and
correct unsafe practices. Work with Health and Safety to
establish and implement new or revised processes, as
necessary; lead the incident investigation process for
injuries, near misses and property damage
  • Create work schedules for warehouse employees; monitor
and validate employee swipe records in timekeeping
  • Provide performance management for direct reports,
including developing strategies to manage absence and
discipline, working collaboratively with human resources
as necessary; track and monitor departmental/employee
metrics in support of same
  • Ensure KPOs for team are aligned with departmental and
brewery goals; provide regular feedback and performance
assessment and take action to address performance gaps
  • Participate and assist with creating a culture of
continuous improvement focused on health and safety,
quality, efficiency, customer service and cost
  • Assist in departmental strategic planning and
budgeting objectives
  • Perform other related duties as required
Job Requirements:
  • Minimum 4 years of warehousing, shipping/receiving, or
transportation experience with at least 2 years of
supervisory experience
  • Minimum secondary school diploma or equivalent.
College or university graduate strongly preferred.
  • Passion for Continuous Improvement
  • Forklift knowledge an asset
  • Effective communication skills, both written and
verbal; ability to create reports and deliver
  • Proven ability to manage simultaneous projects
  • Demonstrated skills in facilitation, employee
engagement, attendance and performance management, and
safety enhancement
  • Ability to prioritize and balance between short and
long term plans within a fast-paced environment
  • Computer skills with ability to use software such as
Microsoft Office; knowledge of warehouse management
systems with RF capability considered an asset.
Experience with supply and demand planning software
considered an asset
  • Working knowledge of occupation health and safety and
other related legislation/regulations
  • Acceptable criminal record check
  • Ability to demonstrate behaviours that support
organizational values

Work Conditions:
  • Spends approximately 60 70% of the time working in
manufacturing environment and approximately 40 30% in an
office environment
  • Travel may be required
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts (predominantly
day and afternoon shifts; possibility of some night
  • Required to wear PPE while in manufacturing
