Welcome to the Royal Kingdom of PLAYTOPIA! We are a 16,000 sq. ft. indoor playground filled with loads of fun. We offer various activities for children aged 0-17 ages. We have a three-story play structure that encourages both fine and gross motor skills Our royal facility also has toddler area for the little ones, including mini slides and educational toys/activities! Safety is our number one priority at Playtopia. We offer state of the art educational and interactive programs that focus on mental, physical, emotional and social development. We also host birthday parties for children!

Job description:

Playtopia is seeking a responsible Supervisor to oversee the workflow at Playtopia. The supervisor will not just be someone who supervises the work of others, but this individual will also be responsible for coaching, resolving issues and serving as a link between staff and upper management, planning, monitoring, enforcing systems, policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will be a competent individual who will be able to guide and train employees. This person will be well-versed in processes under the role’s responsibility and will be results-driven and focused. The goal is to ensure that operations are carried out productively to ensure profitability and sustainable growth while ensuring memorable service is delivered to our guests.

Supervisors are mentors to our staff—setting high standards for service, coaching associates when necessary, and working with our management team to ensure that our service model is being adhered to and executed properly. They are also highly visible to our customers—especially during our busiest times—providing personalized customer service, addressing customer complaints, and resolving issues between employees as needed.


  • Creating exceptional guest experiences.
  • Set goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with company’s plans and vision and communicate them to staff.
  • Organize workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks.
  • Monitor employee productivity.
  • Receive complaints and resolve problems.
  • Pass on information from upper management to employees and vice versa.
  • Assist management as needed.
  • Assist with other duties, as needed.
  • Set goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with company’s plans and vision and communicate them to staff.
  • The supervisor will focus on resolving customer complaints, issues, and the professional development of the staff within Playtopia.
  • The Supervisor should uphold a culture of hospitality and positive morale, and a focus on building the team through providing coaching and feedback.
  • Responsible for executing VIP Groups & Events within venue, providing seamless guest service.
  • Understand and follow all Playtopia values, policies and procedures.
  • Practice and role model Company culture.
  • Responsible for maintaining the seamless operation of all Birthday events, sign in, café, activities within Playtopia and retail operation within Playtopia.
  • Ensure that guests are greeted upon arrival, and questions or concerns are promptly and courteously resolved.
  • Ensure that all staff are always dressed appropriately.
  • Ensure that all areas are always clean and tidy.
  • Ensure that incoming and outgoing telephone calls are handled promptly and courteously.
  • Greet and handle all guest interactions with a high level of professionalism and hospitality.
  • Be readily available at all times to resolve all guest concerns.
  • Strive to achieve sales targets while adhering to an established budget during day-to-day operations.
  • Ensure that the facility consistently meets Playtopia cleanliness and safety standards; this includes regularly monitoring of all guest facing areas.
  • Complete all daily, weekly, monthly checklists and according to internal and external requirements.
  • Deliver employee training and development for assigned area of responsibility.
  • Conduct practical training of new employees and provide coaching and feedback.
  • Maintain effective communications within and outside of Playtopia to ensure flawless performance.
  • Ensure that the facility consistently meets Playtopia standards throughout daily operations. This includes ensuring that all stations are fully equipped at the beginning and end of shifts.
  • Anticipate and react to any changes in business levels while maintaining excellent guest service.
  • Follow all provincial Health, and Food Safety legislative requirements.
  • Circulate regularly throughout all areas, maintaining a positive profile with guests and staff.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of all reports and administrative work.
  • Monitor trends within the industry and make suggestions for the implementation of appropriate programs.


  • A positive and welcoming attitude.
  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience in the food service, retail and / or amusement industry.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays, as required.
  • Ability to work under pressure while complying with all relevant legislation.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, customer service, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in all aspects of customer service and people management.
  • Experience in training will be considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and direct a team.
  • Ability to supervise employees, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to provide feedback regarding operations, propose new policies, and develop and implement new strategies.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret the needs of clients and offer the appropriate options, solutions, and resolutions required.
  • Exceptional conflict resolution, negotiation, and objection handling skills.
  • Able to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
  • Good training, coaching, and mentoring skills are essential.
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers.
  • High school diploma; certificate/diploma in management or relevant experience will be considered an advantage.
  • Fluent in English – speaking, reading and writing.
  • Successful applicants will be required to complete a criminal background check.
  • Standard First Aid/ CPR C Certification.

**We are looking to hire full-time individuals who can work starting as soon as possible and who are willing to work Friday evenings, Saturday and Sunday - flexible schedule.
