The Role: Manager, Factory Planning Reporting & Analysis

Planning, Reporting and Analysis:
  • Manage and support the financial planning cycle of the manufacturing business including month-end, budgeting, forecasting, operational planning and long-term planning
  • Work with operations teams to create and implement manufacturing-based initiatives aligned with manufacturing objectives
  • Closely monitor the factory's KPIs and expenses and provide timely feedback for costs improvement
  • Work closely with factory management and finance team in formulating products costing using standard costing which involves process analysis, practical studies and establishing appropriate basis for costs allocations
  • Provide value adding analysis, commentaries and recommendations on production costs, operating expenses, variances, products and customers' profitability which will be used to support decision making
  • Provide relevant analysis to optimize the inventory levels in relation to the individual SKUs' selling price, costs of storage and the products age
  • Provide Accurate, timely & relevant analysis of initiatives and reporting of financial results
  • Continuously identify areas of improvement in the factory's processes which aims to enhance the speed, quality and costs and collaborate with factory management to execute the changes
  • Coordinate and assist in the preparation of annual budget and rolling forecast
  • Perform feasibility analysis on new capex or projects
  • Ensure factory data capturing process is reliable in terms of accuracy and comply with statutory requirement. This in turn ensures the integrity of the analysis which will be used for decision making
  • Assist factory management in managing the operations and business risks by continuously identifying, evaluate and mitigate the identified risks to ensure the financial health of the business
People:
  • Responsible for leading the Toronto manufacturing finance team
  • Facilitate training and education for all staff on financial practices and fact-based decision making
  • Provide leadership, guidance, development, coaching and support to the factory finance team of 1 - Senior Financial Analyst, 1- Financial Analyst, Cost Accountant and Production Support Analyst

Required Qualifications:
  • CA/CPA or equivalent with 5-10 years of operational finance experience
  • ERP / MRP system experience
  • Manufacturing experience in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals or food industries
  • Demonstrated ability to train, develop and build strong teams
  • Self-motivated and results oriented
  • Knowledge and support in developing business system processes, including financial, manufacturing, inventory and internal controls well as a broad knowledge of information systems development process and internal controls
  • Flexible to work overtime as required by the business
  • Able to legally work in Canada and can travel domestically and internationally (10%)
  • Fluent in English: reading, writing and speaking
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Microsoft Dynamics ERP (DAX) system experience
  • Accustomed to working in a highly seasonal, high pressure production environment
