Prompt resolution of exception freight while following the procedures outlined in the QPM
Communicating daily with customers, handling incoming and making outgoing customer calls providing accurate timely information regarding freight overages, shortages and damages. Have ability and desire to handle customer service issues with compassion.
Processing of cash collect shipments and communication with dispatch to ensure freight is not delivered until payment is received.
Conducting daily dock checks and ensure all shipments are being handled
Completion of exception reports as required
Regular security footage checks to assist in tracking down lost or misrouted shipments
Communicate with head office and other terminal OD&D departments to assist in OS&D resolutions
Answer phones and transfer to appropriate staff
Greet visitors and manage visitor log book
Gather required documentation for cross boarder interline partner
Assist as needed with local departments during vacation season.
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years experience in the transportation industry preferrably with an LTL company.
Be a natural problem solver and able to conduct yourself professionally with both internal departments and external customers.
Possess basic computer and keyboarding skills. Have good analytical, cognitive, and problem solving skills.
