The Leisure + Corporate Sales Manageris the lead salesperson for Drake Hotel Properties, accountable for personally generating a significant portion of DHP’s overall room sales targets across all properties, as well as ensuring the achievement of the remaining quota by successfully managing a local team of event sales specialists. Reporting to the Executive Director, Revenue + Growth and with accountability to the General Manager of each property, the incumbent will have dotted line reporting of local event coordinators to ensure that Event Sales are executed to our Drake standards of excellence. For 2019-2020, the incumbent will lead Leisure and Corporate Room Sales, both at our existing hotel properties (Drake Hotel, Drake Devonshire, and Drake Motor Inn) as well as in anticipation of the additional 32 hotel rooms coming online in mid-2020 with our Drake Hotel expansion.
The Leisure + Corporate Sales Managerposition is responsible for building valued trade relationships and driving hotel room sales within our leisure segment (agent) and lead the corporate negotiated rate program for the Drake Hotel, Drake Devonshire and Drake Motor Inn. They are responsible for developing and implementing strategic growth within the venue sales sector of our business by supporting and managing restaurant/venue sales activities, with the objective of positioning all Drake Properties positively within its key markets and generally increase the sales of room nights and venue/event sales across all properties.
About the Role
+ Responsible for meeting and exceeding room night booking goals + call activity goals directed at agent sales and corporate rate negotiations (monthly, quarterly and yearly)
+ Manages an active book of returning, new and prospect clients to ensure personal sales quota across all properties is met and/or exceeded
+ Meets with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals
+ Travel as appropriate to various industry and hotel related client events in key feeder markets
+ Assist in planning and implementing strategies and action plans to increase agent business and corporate stays
+ Follow up on leads in respective territory both by telephone and by digital correspondence within established time-frame
+ Monthly sales forecasting activities, pace reporting and team goal management
+ Oversees reconciling of sales accounts receivables
+ Competitive analysis to benchmark offerings against the market and current client needs
+ Work closely with the Sales Specialists to ensure sufficient cross selling opportunities are maximized and seamless experiences for clients booking both on and off site bookings
+ Regularly attend networking events, participate in industry related organizations and represent the company professionally
+ Maintain positive relations with all Guests, Vendors, Colleagues within respective market.
+ Maintain and develop client and prospect database (Tripleseat, Drip, Filemaker Pro)
+ Oversees reconciling of sales team's account receivables
+ Maintains consistent reporting on sales pacing and forecasting

+ Actively manages the team of Sales Managers to achieve their budget targets, meets frequently to review results and set plans to ensure quotas and goals are met

+ Liaise with internal reservation staff
+ Develops standard operating policies for Event execution for each property
+ Trains and provides consistent coaching and feedback to on-site event/operations managers to ensure that guests are 100% satisfied with their Drake experience
+ Reviews weekly guest feedback and special event surveys for issues and opportunities for improvement
+ Analyzes and controls expenditures of sales department, looking at event department resources (linens, tables, chairs, AV/Tech, etc) to ensure they meet the Drake standards
+ Must have post secondary education and related hospitality experience

+ You have demonstrated the ability to attract, retain and build a high-performing hospitality and operations teams who share your exceptional passion for service
+ Excellent business writing skills
+ Ability to multi-task and resolve process deficiencies to improve customer service
+ Comprehensive knowledge of MS office and Tripleseat
+ Ability to think strategically about Drake hotels’ niche in community and where to pursue business leads for all segments of hotel
