Full-Time Residential ASSISTANT SUPERVISORS Position.

* There are also P/T Front Line positions available, with the potential for full time opportunity.

CRSS is recruiting a qualified Residential Assistant Supervisor who will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day operation of the program, staff team and the individuals. In addition, provide implementation and co-ordination of client and program goals in accordance with the Quality Assurance Measures compliance. Assistant Supervisor will report to the Supervisor who will then report to CRSS Executive Director.

These full-time positions come with competitive salaries and benefits. Program Supervisors are expected to work weekdays and Assistant Supervisors evenings and occasional weekends if required. Both positions entail a week of 24/7 On-Call rotation supporting programs when needed.

Successful candidates must have extensive experience working with individuals with severe mental health, Autism/ASD, and challenging behaviours.

Community Resource and Support Services is a unique provider of RESIDENTIAL and community-based support for Transitional aged youth (TAY 16yrs +) and Adults living with an intellectual disability and other complex needs. CRSS is focused on providing positive social outcomes for individuals by partnering with local agencies, developing appropriate living environments based on the wishes and needs of individuals and their families, and access to professional partners to ensure the highest quality of life and services available.

Required Qualifications:

  • Child & Youth Worker diploma, Developmental Service Worker, Social Service Worker or, a degree/diploma in a related field combined with sound knowledge of diagnostic and treatment theories, methodologies and practices as they relate to adolescents and an ability to apply theory to practice
  • Knowledge of counselling theories, ABA/IBI & BT and the ability to provide a broad range of therapeutic interventions to residents as well as knowledge and skill in the areas of crisis intervention (CPI)
  • Prior experience managing a staff team is MANDATORY to be considered for the positions.
  • Computer Literacy including: Microsoft Office, Internet navigational skills, accurate database entry, and continuously developing technology proficiency.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational and administrative skills as well as effective interpersonal skills in order to effectively liaise with a variety of Agency staff, external professionals and individuals
  • Satisfactory clearance under the Police Reference Check program (VSS).
  • Must hold valid, current First Aid and CPR, CPI/UMAB certificates as well as a G Driver's License and satisfactory results on a Driver's Abstract
  • Medical clearance in accordance with CRSS policy on pre-employment medicals.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the program, staff team, and individuals.
  • Being flexible and available to cover shifts when staffing is unavailable.
  • Lead and/or assist in the orientation and training of new staff members and report their progress to the Recruitment Manager.
  • Ensure program petty cash receipts are accurate and monthly budget is submitted to HR at the end of each month.
  • Conduct every 90 days ISP meetings with families, Agencies Case Managers, and other parties involved in the individuals care.
  • Report immediately any major concerns to the Executive Director.
  • Ensure F/T Frontline Staff are meeting their responsibilities as Primary Workers assigned to individuals files to maintain accuracy and up to date within the designated programs.
  • Assistant Supervisor to work as a liaison between the staff team and Supervisor and are expected to keep the Supervisor informed of any potential issues that might need the Supervisor to intervene directly. They should also be able to read the general “temperature” of a situation or the program in general and actively work at all times to make sure issues are dealt with before they arise
  • Monitor all documentation including the communication book, client daily logs, medication binder, Healthy & Fire Safety binder, individual binders, school agendas/Adult Skills Centre books, and any other paperwork.
  • Monthly order from the designated pharmacy in the stocking of individuals daily medications/supplies as prescribed by their general practioners.
  • Follow through on the notification protocol after an incident has occurred and ensure a SOR has been filed within the allotted time.
  • Able to fulfil on-call duties to support multi-programs during rotation schedule 24/7.
  • Liaisons with community services, educational institutions and families/guardians and builds effective working relationships with them on behalf of the individuals during all stages of client care
  • Provides crisis intervention to clients and support to other staff as required.
  • Report necessary program and agency vehicle maintenance checks to the maintenance personnel once approval from the Executive Director.
  • Complete regular administrative duties and other required program paperwork in compliance with program, agency policies and timelines.
