A young university student is seeking a part-time private support worker (6 hours a week with a possibility of increasing to 10 hours).
The individual is seeking an outgoing and empathetic personal support worker (PSW) who is able to assist with time management and work/life balance. Punctuality, dependability and open-communication are required skills as the PSW will be expected to facilitate independence and assist with growing additional social skills. The successful candidate should be experienced in supporting a person with Asperger’s Syndrome or be highly motivated to learn about ASD.
Job Type: Part Time (6 hours with a possibility of increasing to 10 hours)
The successful candidate will be asked to complete a criminal record check including vulnerable sector check.
You may be contacted for an interview when individuals (supported though an NBACL program) identify a need for a support worker. Decisions about the hiring of support workers rest with the individual requiring support and/or their family. If you are selected, you will not be an employee of NBACL or the Department of Social Development. In your role of support worker you will be considered self-employed and will be responsible for making any remittances (e.g., income tax, CPP premiums) required by law.***
