The FP&A Analyst will report to the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis. This role is based in QuadReal’s corporate office in Vancouver, BC, and will be an important member of the FP&A team supporting the execution of QuadReal’s budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, performance measurement, and combined real estate portfolio analysis and reporting.
Assist with the annual budget preparation and quarterly forecasts including review of performance versus investment plans, reconciliation of variances to prior budgets, and detailed analysis of performance against current strategy.
Create / manage financial models used to calculate current and projected performance under various scenarios.
Maintain files and update for various KPI metrics, ensure calculations are accurate and data inputs are cleansed/verified.
Develop and update presentations for both internal and external audiences.
Produce management reporting and analysis, driving key insights, recommendations, and proposed next steps.
Maintain complex datasets to ensure consistency across all analysis and reporting.
Participate in process enhancements and efficiencies as well as support best-in-class system implementation.
Collect, validate, and analyze operational and performance data from various internal and external sources
Calculate & analyze business performance: AUM (Assets Under Management) metrics, investment performance/return, real estate operating metrics, and other KPI’s. Focus on deriving key analytical insights from financial outcomes and metrics
Prepare ad-hoc analysis tied to key business needs and executive management requests.

Professional Experiences & Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of related work experience in FP&A, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, or Real Estate.
Analytical and Financial Modelling experience:
o Experience developing financial models in excel to represent complex business scenario’s
o Ability to manage large data sets in excel with a working knowledge of how to organise, summarize, and report that large data set concisely using tools such as Power Pivot
o Demonstrated ability to analyze and draw insights from complex information in a concise manner.
o Logical in thought and approach with a flair for how to present financial information to non-financial users.
o Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Good working knowledge of accounting/finance principles (GAAP/IFRS) and operational finance.
Strong interpersonal skills:
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills
o Ability to adapt to work effectively in changing situations; ability to “change gears”
o Ability to work both independently and with diverse individuals/groups
o Ability to multi-task with strong time management
Technical & systems savvy:
o Good working knowledge of using technology in a finance environment, specifically is a person who is systems savvy and/or proficient with accounting/financial systems, ERP, analytical tools, BI tools, and/or MS Office applications.
o Highly beneficial to have experience with systems such as JD Edwards, Yardi, and/or Corporate Performance Management (CPM) tools
o Someone who takes initiative to achieve results. Self-starter who anticipates next steps.
o Eager to learn and contribute.
Education: University degree with major in business, finance, mathematics, accounting, or economics. Holding or is working toward a MBA, CFA, CPA or other relevant professional designation is considered an asset.
