The Product Manager, Fixed Annuity Products will be responsible for managing Sun Life’s market leading Payout Annuity and Structured Settlement product lines. The Product Manager will become the go-to person for subject matter expertise to support a wide range of Product Development, Distribution, Marketing, and Operations related initiatives. This role provides an excellent opportunity for a collaborative, business-minded individual with the demonstrated ability to acquire industry knowledge, manage complex projects, and support in the development of high impact communications for a broad range of audiences.
What will you do?
Be the Product Champion for the Fixed Annuity product line
Own the fixed annuity illustration systems, applications, and contracts
Effectively manage the Fixed Annuity product line (excluding pricing) by developing a deep understanding of the Canadian fixed annuity market space, including competitor products, legislation, and emerging retirement income market trends
Support major product development initiatives related to the fixed annuity portfolio by providing subject matter expertise (SME) input into feasibility studies and business cases
Conduct product training when required
Analyze sales data to understand sales trends, opportunities, and threats
Develop high-impact product training content and sale promotions
Provide leadership, guidance, and be responsible for people management responsibilities for the Associated Product Manager, Fixed Annuity Products
Efficient and effective handling of product-related questions and escalations from internal and external sources
What do you need to succeed?
Financial services product and industry knowledge
Strong collaboration and relationship management skills
The ability to grasp technical concepts
Skilled presenter and facilitator
Demonstrated self-management and initiative
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Product management experience, preferably in financial services
Experience with and understanding of Financial Planning/Retirement Planning
Experience with annuities or in the retirement industry
Understanding of sales concepts for payout annuities
Familiarity with Sun Life’s wealth products
Experience in working with sales teams

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
