Equifax is recruiting highly motivated students with strong collaboration and communication skills for its Data Governance Analyst Co-ops.

Co-ops at Equifax are helping us to evolve our management capabilities for our most important asset: data. The Data Governance function is becoming recognized more and more as a critical capability needed by companies to effectively manage data as an exceptionally valuable asset. The Data Governance Office at Equifax continually strives to adapt its capabilities to an ever-growing and ever-changing catalogue of data assets within in a highly regulated environment.

This position is based in our Montreal location.

Responsibilities of the Data Governance Co-op:
Reviews metrics reports and manages metadata within a defined environment.
UAT/audit against defined business rules/policies.
Responds to information requests against policies or data assets.
Enters/maintains information in governance/ metadata/documentation repository.
Develops process documentation.
Contributes to expanding the Data Governance function through the Data Governance Office.
Supports the Acceptable Data Usage program.
Assist with identification and implementation of changes for continuous program improvement.
Handle additional ad hoc activities as needed to include providing back up support for other key additional data governance functions.

Requirements

Current student in good standing in an undergraduate program at an accredited institution. Areas of study within a Business discipline should be related to governance, analytics, or data management.
Familiarity with concepts such as governance, risk, controls, and compliance.
Strong analytical capability with a keen sense for data and analytics.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Strong oral and written communication skills with a focus on informing, influencing and relationship building.
Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
Able to function in a fast-paced, ever changing environment with a consistently positive and professional attitude.
Strong organizational and project management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines prioritize assignments and manage multiple projects.
Leadership and partnering skills, including success in influencing outside of direct reporting line.
