The Business Architecture team within Business Banking is responsible for understanding and guiding the ever-evolving line of business, by analyzing all of the major components and their relationships within the organization to align strategic objectives and tactical demands.
The Business Analysis team in particular utilizes a structured methodology to collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, define, analyze, and communicate requirements, validate solution provided and assess solution readiness. We are focused on maximizing benefit realization by bridging the gap between quality solution and the individuals that must embrace and adopt the change. We provide expertise and guidance throughout the project lifecycle through the delivery of clear requirements and project artifacts.
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Business Architecture within the Business Banking Divisional Office, this role will lead requirements gathering activities for business and technology projects within the assigned investment portfolio. This position requires strong leadership, analytical and problem solving skills. The chosen candidate must be able to work with minimal supervision, contribute to a positive work environment, and manage multiple assignments.
Participate in agile development pod(s) assigned to strategic Business Banking investment themes, including Servicing and Payments
Build and maintain positive working relationships with partners and team members
Advanced to expert knowledge of project management methodology
Advanced to expert knowledge of business analysis, project delivery practices and standards across the project lifecycle
Demonstrate a proactive approach in day to day accountabilities and interactions (e.g. issue resolution, providing recommendations)
Ability to answer and research questions in reference to the work effort being led
Ability to effectively facilitate meetings of any size including the documentation of decisions and action items
Apply analytical and problem solving skills through a variety of analysis techniques to enable informed decision making
Experience defining and building new features or optimizing existing features related to Digital Servicing Platforms, Cash Management Services (e.g. Balance Reporting, Lockbox, etc.) and/or Payment Services (e.g. Wires, Funds Transfer (EFT), etc.)
Knowledge of agile best practices to build requirements and user stories with the primary goal of consistent incremental delivery
Effective communication and business writing skills
Extensive (minimum 3-5 years) experience in the BA role, in projects ranging from small to large scale
Leads Requirements Management / work packages for Tier 1-5 projects or programs
Probe, challenge and understand how requirements will address business needs
Ability to identify and engage partner resources as necessary (i.e. when there is no PM assigned)
Ensure key project updates that include relevant and valuable information are provided as required in a timely manner
Sound knowledge of escalation processes and ensuring timely communication of issues to the appropriate channels
Identifies and leads defect resolution for complex requirements related issues at all levels
Knowledge of the Project Management lifecycle
Sound knowledge and experience with the Quality Assurance process (review test results; defect resolution and recommend sign off)
Participates in and may lead the scoping process for deliverables and new in-plan initiatives
Supports and may contribute to communication and change management activities
3-5 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
3-5 years' experience in a variety of projects/markets on multidisciplinary teams
Knowledge of Cash Management Services and Payments is a plus
Agile experience is an asset
Working knowledge of JIRA and Confluence strongly recommended
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business or a related discipline.
