As Colliers Project Leaders continues to grow and attract exciting project opportunities, we seek a Contract Administrator with previous experience in Transportation Projects to join our team in Eastern Ontario. The Contract Administrator will be responsible for administering the terms of construction contracts on behalf of our client for various construction site projects in different field office locations.

How you’ll contribute as a Contract Administrator at Colliers Project Leaders:

Be the primary representative for the MTO on the site and be responsible for administering the terms of the construction agreement by ensuring the client’s best interests are protected.
Ensure the contractor’s performance is in line with all contract documents, which include the MTO Construction Administration Inspection Task Manual (CAITM), applicable quality standards including OPSS, SP, NSSP, MTOD, the Ontario Health and Safety Manual and any other appropriate documents.
Work in field offices, providing supervision and guidance to junior and senior inspectors on various construction site projects.
Review and submit required documentation and records to the client relative to construction progress on-site.
Prepare and reconcile contractor progress payments on a monthly basis.
Ensure and supervise ongoing adherence to health and safety policies and guidelines on site in accordance with applicable health and safety regulations
Ensure regulation compliance through preliminary and ongoing site plan reviews
Liaise and ensure ongoing, effective communication between clients, contractors and consultants
Oversee, advise and educate junior level field staff.
Travel and work on contracts throughout Ontario for potentially lengthy periods at a time.

What you’ll bring to the table:
A minimum of 3 or more construction seasons as a Contract Administrator with at least one project having had a value of at least five million dollars.
Previous experience on MTO projects will be considered a strong asset.
A university degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
Registered or eligible to register for either P.Eng. or CET designation a strong asset.
Certified by OACETT for the Road Construction Contract Administrator (RCCA) designation.
Sound knowledge of design standards, specifications and materials associated with construction, laws and regulations including environmental, traffic control, and occupational health and safety requirements and their application in construction contracts.
Ability to work unassisted and direct subordinates in the field.
Previous experience and education or training in dispute resolution or the MTO T131 Advanced Claims – Dispute Resolution certification mandatory.
Ability to review and monitor project schedules.
Demonstrated experience in highway, freeway and ATMS construction projects performing asphalt, grading and structural inspections
Aptitude for reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications
Effective leadership and organizational skills with the ability to effectively influence others and successfully resolve a variety of client, project and technical issues.
Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and presentation skills. Able to conduct and lead meetings with Clients and Contractors.
Strong computer skills, including a working knowledge of email (MS Outlook), scheduling (MS Project & Primavera), word processing (Word) and spreadsheet (Excel) software applications
Valid Ontario Class ‘G’ driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Experience with MTO software WBCMS will be considered as a major asset.
MTO T131 Advanced Claims – Dispute Resolution certification mandatory.
