Job Summary

The Data Governance team is charged with ensuring that data is treated as a strategic asset. It is a governing body that partners with the business and IT to ensure a high level of reporting integrity with the objective of improving operations and mitigating risk.

The Sr. Analyst plays a key role in developing, socializing, and monitoring adherence to data and reporting standards, as well as governing access and consumption of data. The scope of engagements will be related to various subject areas including master data, finance, operational performance, loyalty, and inventory among others. The position will also participate in all aspects of the administration of the core data and analytics tools such as GCP, SQL Server, MicroStrategy Visual Insight, Power BI, and SAP HANA.

What you'll do

Define and govern data accessibility based on roles and permissions for various toolsets
Develop reporting requirements to monitor data compliance
Develop and maintain data and reporting standards to ensure consistency across the Enterprise
Review solutions for adherence to report and information standards as part of monthly IT releases and PTP (promote to production) processes
Manage and maintain metadata repositories (BI Data Dictionary, Reporting Catalogue)
Conduct ad hoc analysis and validate data integrity across systems
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve data accuracy
Collaborate with the Learning and Development team to ensure all training documentation is complete and up to date
Business support to enable a data-driven culture (communication, training)
Collaborate with the business to ensure reporting complies with standards
Manage and maintain monitoring scorecards and work with stakeholders to drive action on metrics or trends that conflict with policies

What you'll need

Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in Information Management, Records Management, Data Management, Computer Science, Business or relevant discipline
Effectively interact with a variety of teams and level of management within all parts of the organization with confidence
Self starter and takes initiative to consistently deliver value
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Highly organized with ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
Team player with strong interpersonal skills
Data governance experiences in a highly regulated environment is an asset (e.g. Banking, Healthcare)
Knowledge of GCP, Azure, Teradata, metadata management tools (e.g. EDC, Collibra), data quality tools (e.g. DSP or Informatica DQ) and business intelligence tools (e.g. Microstrategy, BigQuery or SAS) is an asset
Experience with SQL is an asset
