Black Cat Wear Parts is currently seeking an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) to join our maintenance team. Experience in the foundry industry, steel industry or steel processing would be considered an asset. This position will be working closely with our production team while maintaining and enhancing our equipment and facilities.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Rebuilds, repairs and installs gear boxes, motors, pumps and conveyors
- Fits bearings, aligns gears and shafts, attaches motors and connects couplings and belts
- Operates rigging equipment and dollies to place machinery, equipment and parts in place
- Aligns and tests equipment and performs any necessary adjustments
- Troubleshoots hydraulic, pneumatic and programmable logic controls
- Helps design and fabricate new production equipment
- Support the maintenance programs
- Understand and practice continuous improvement to aid in further development of the maintenance department
Qualifications of a suitable candidate are:
- A valid Red Seal Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) certificate, or proof of apprenticeship
- A strong aptitude for safe work practices
- A strong mechanical aptitude
- An outstanding ability to work successfully as part of a multi-disciplined team of tradesmen
- Understanding of lean manufacturing concepts
- Familiarity with Maintenance programs
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
- Fabrication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
