Field Solutions Summer Research Associate- Olds, AB

Your tasks and responsibilities

We are seeking highly motivated Field Solutions Summer Research Associates to join our successful team for the Summer of 2020. This position is a 4-month term. The positions will be based in Olds, AB.

From your first day as a Summer Student you will be a contributing member of the team with meaningful responsibilities. Our goal is to provide interesting and challenging work while at the same time have fun and celebrate successes.
We offer an orientation program, on the job training, a competitive compensation package, and this role provides you with opportunity to expand your knowledge and agricultural research experience.
Our Field Solutions team work within a project team environment to plan and execute field crop research trials and coordinate research projects with public and private contract co-operators to generate performance data needed for commercialization of new agricultural production technologies.

Key Tasks:
Assist with product development trials relating to the development of seed treatment, herbicide and fungicide products on a diverse selection of field crops
Field trial maintenance including field preparation, seeding, spraying, and mowing
Data collection and management
Mobility to travel within your region, manage your own schedule and work independently in pursuit of team goals

Agronomic knowledge attained through pursuing your degree in Agriculture or another college coupled with experience in the Agriculture industry
Ability to work independently as well as contribute to a dynamic team environment
Ability to deliver results
Attention to detail
Experience with trailering equipment and operation of farm equipment is considered an asset
Ability to obtain G endorsement (Heavy trailer endorsement) for driver’s license is required
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
