What is the opportunity?

In this role, you will provide oversight and strategic leadership in the management of the RBC Central and Western real estate portfolio, specifically: supporting business partners to secure and effectively manage premises at the best possible value; manage relationships with all RBC businesses and ensure alignment of the Corporate Real Estate (CRE) portfolio with business strategies; oversee regional delivery of all real estate services including planning, transactions, capital projects, facilities management, and operations; oversee ongoing operations and maintenance of RBC’s premises in partnership with Global Centres of Excellence (COE), including the delivery of Tier 1 service partners to include performance and risk management; as well as develop regional real estate strategies aligned with business unit priorities, supported by the Strategy & Planning COE.

What will you do?

Provide real estate advice, expertise, strategy and direction on all major office and retail initiatives in the Central and Western Canada regions
Support businesses in the acquisition, disposition or renewal of premises
Act as the primary liaison between CRE COE and Regional business partners
Identify and negotiate with key stakeholders (suppliers, internal resources and clients) to achieve project/program objectives
Identify opportunities for improvement and occupancy savings aligned with CRE efficiency targets in partnership with COE; establish processes and supporting systems to enhance communication and transparency across CRE
Ensure the delivery of expected client service levels within the prescribed budget and develop proactive working relationships with internal business partners and vendors

Provide governance oversight to ensure all areas of CRE comply with internal policies and programs and external regulatory and legislative obligations in order to reduce risk, including process adherence to key controls

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

University Degree or equivalent experience
10+ years of experience in project management, governance, financials, construction details, facilities management, value engineering and workplace standards in order to design, supervise and maintain the real estate portfolio in the Central and Western Canada
exceptional communication skills to deal with executives, business partners, stakeholders, external vendors and various professionals

Nice-to-have

PMP, MBA
