The North Western AB/BC group within Certarus has the potential to significantly change the company landscape with the growth opportunities in North Western AB/BC, which has increased the focus and commitment to this region. The Operations Supervisor is a newly created role as Certarus continues servicing customers in our North Western AB/BC region. This key position will be responsible for assisting the Regional Operations Manager in day to day operations of the Grande Prairie hub including organizing of Technicians for jobs, regular on call rotation to meet all customer deliveries and maintain high equipment up-time. This includes demonstrating leadership in executing Safety Program initiatives, providing continuous training for new drivers and technicians and ensuring they follow procedures and receive all pertinent communications. This position reports directly to the Regional Operations Manager – Grande Prairie.
Assist in hiring and day to day managing of team of Technicians and Drivers
Champions safety initiatives with operations in the region in accordance Safety policies, which include safety inspections, safety meetings, and safety compliance
Provide leadership and mentoring to a growing team of drivers and technicians as well as a high level of support to the Regional Operations Manager
Reviews drivers and technicians Hazard ID/BBO and ensures 100% participation on a monthly basis
Counsels team on customer complaints or issues and advise on corrective measures
Provide support as liaison between Central Dispatch and team to ensure communications and loads are executed safely and efficiently
Assists in conducting monthly truck inspections and reviews maintenance compliance
Assists with mentor selection and driver training for new hires, annual driver reviews and continuously instructs drivers on proper driving procedures
Observes and counsel's drivers at fueling stations, and job sites, on safety procedures including proper backing procedures, truck positioning, and strictly following company specific Safe Working Procedures
May be required to work outside of normal work schedule to meet customer needs
Regular on call schedule
Performs other duties as assigned
5-10 years of oilfield experience with relevant compression and gas/trucking logistics industry experience
Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills and an ability to deal tactfully with a wide range of personalities
Participative management, advocating teamwork and a positive atmosphere
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Knowledge of truck operations, DOT regulations and OSHA guidelines
Strong verbal and written communication skills required
Demonstrated success in operations leadership in an oil field services business, including managing drivers
Strong Safety knowledge and background
