Our Origin Story
Back in the early 1990s our founding Nerd, Mike Romaniuk, reported to a client site. Upon his arrival, someone exclaimed “We’re saved! The Rent-A-Nerd is here!” Although it was a joke at the time, the name stuck, and we owned it! Rent-A-Nerd® has come to embody what we stand for: A positive and professional, light-hearted group of, well, Nerds! To this day, we continue to focus wholeheartedly on our people.
At Rent-A-Nerd, we focus on supporting small to medium organizations. We’ve crafted and refined our ideal customer base so that we can provide our clients with the best possible services. Even today, we interview our prospective clients as much (sometimes more) as they interview us. We believe so strongly in the client fit with our culture that if we don’t believe we can provide the best possible service to their business, we will refer them to another service company.

As a Sales Manager, your responsibilities will be:
Generating new lead sources and expanding the target customer base;
Managing organizational sales by developing a business plan in conjunction with the General Manager;
Achieving our objectives through effective planning and setting sales goals;
Providing advanced negotiation expertise;
Maintain a deep understanding of customer requirements and anticipate their future needs;
Participating in spontaneous sales call rides;
Ensuring that the sales department works cross functionally with other departments. For example, you will closely collaborate with our Directors, and People & Culture Manager amongst other members of the Management team;
Presenting sales, revenue and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the Management team;
Assistance with the development of sales presentations and proposals;
And of course, keeping the revenue engine running.

Completion of related post-secondary education or a combination of experience/training;
Proven track record of creating and converting leads into opportunities;
Four years' experience in Sales or in an equivalent setting;
Demonstrated history of meeting & exceeding goals;
Self-motivated and able to work independently;
Skilled at opening doors, and understanding business requirements of senior decision makers;
Ability to think creatively and innovatively;
Exercises professional judgment and discretion;
Effective problem solving and decision-making skills.
