Job Description

We are currently looking for a junior level systems administrator to join the IMImobile Canada team on a full-time basis. As a member of a small, focused operations team, you will be responsible for the day to day operations (trouble tickets, monitoring, maintenance) of the department as well as have the opportunity to demonstrate your technical skills by taking ownership of, and assisting with, the planning, configuration and deployment of various IT infrastructure components.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
RCA, resolution and logging of issues submitted by clients and corporate users.
Notify clients and corporate users of service interruptions and planned maintenance.
Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, and support of all IT systems, networks, applications and assets.
Benchmark, analyze, report, and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and IT systems.
Manage security aspects of the IT Department, including audits, vulnerability tests, compliance data gathering, and other security related tasks as appropriate.
Maintenance of various IT systems, i.e. researching and deploying patches/updates, log analysis and archiving, upgrades etc.
Act as technical lead for client provisioning and systems integrations.
Research and source equipment, and make recommendations regarding corporate IT purchases.
Perform, automate and monitor system backups.
Document system/service configuration and procedures.
After hours on call and support.

Skills & Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to support corporate Windows desktop infrastructure.
Firm understanding of networking fundamentals (Routing protocols, firewall concepts, VPNs, VLANs, addressing, transport protocols).
Experience with virtualization infrastructure.
Experience with system management / monitoring tools.
Experience configuring, installing and administering network switches and routers.
Experience with and understanding of: DNS, LDAP, NTP, SMTP, HTTP, SSH.
Ability to perform computer/server repairs and upgrades.
Excellent written and verbal English language skills.
Good awareness of deadlines and commitment to schedules.
Self-starter and learner; able to work independently with limited supervision.
The candidate should take pride in their work and be accountable for their actions.
Works well under pressure and manages expectations effectively

ASSETS:
Experience with Windows AD and Exchange.
Experience with Windows Clustering Environments.
Experience with MS SQL Server 2008/2012, Windows Server 2012/2016.
Experience with Apache-Tomcat, JBOSS middleware.
Experience with virtualization infrastructure..
Experience with Nagios monitoring.
Experience with load balancing concepts and products.
Understanding of DR architecture and best practices.
Ability to work independently, in small teams, and with clients.
