H2Safety Services Inc. is looking for a Public Consultation Specialist to join our team. The role consists of that traveling to remote locations to ground truth and GPS roads and surface developments (residences, businesses, public facilities, trapper cabins, public recreation areas, etc.), contact residences to explain the hazards associated with nearby oil and gas operations and to gather their contact information for emergency response purposes. This position requires significant travel within Western Canada and the candidate can expect that they will be out of town for significant periods of time with approximately 75% of their time spent in the field and 25% spent in the office. Responsibilities:
Participates in project kickoff meetings with the Project Manager and project team to identify project regulatory requirements, client requirements and expectations.
Travels to remote locations throughout Western Canada and completes ground truthing, GPSing and public consultations.
Consults with members of the public regarding emergency response procedures.
Enters updated resident data into a Microsoft Access database.
Completes consultations via phone call when a face to face visit is not required.
Completes land title and 411 searches.
Ensures that own work is of high quality, meets company standards and meets regulatory requirements.
Works with the GIS department to ensure roads and surface development locations are reflected accurately on project maps.
Attends the requisite project meetings are held during each field job (i.e. pre-field meeting with the Project Manager, pre-field safety meetings, pre-field meeting with the client, daily safety meetings, meetings with the client, post project review meetings).
Consistently follows all safety processes / procedures / standards / requirements.
Qualifications

Clean driving record – drivers abstract required
High level of initiative and self-motivation.
Very high attention to detail.
Able to prioritize work and work accurately under the pressure of multiple deadlines with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Personable, skilled at establishing rapport and building strong relationships.
Be able to work flexibly and deal with change.
Able to work independently and use analytical and decision-making skills to offer solutions and resolve problems in a variety of contexts.
Able to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, staff & members of the public.
Strong communication and conflict management skills. Able to adapt to various communications styles of people who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines.
