SAJO is a well-established and continuously evolving company that specializes in project management for various environments mastering areas such as design, construction, procurement and maintenance. We are currently seeking a Senior Project Manager in Public Works to join our team.


Education: A university degree or technical diploma in the areas of engineering, architecture, building sciences or construction technology.
Experience: More than 5 years of project management experience in construction and long-term experience and in-depth knowledge of the public works municipality and infrastructure procurement within the public sector.


The project manager is responsible for implementing all phases of the project, ensuring quality and on-time delivery. Detailed budgetary planning and monitoring of project costs are key as well as establishing solid relations and ongoing communication with clients, sub-trades, site personnel and other stakeholders. A problem-solving mindset and quick response to changing operational or client needs is of the essence. Accurate and thorough documentation is required at all phases of the project.
The project manager must have in-depth understanding of construction procedures and project management principles and systems. The project manager must have excellent management, negotiating and leadership skills as well as excellent organizational and time-management skills. Good verbal and written communication skills in English, is needed.
The project manager must assist in building a strong network and reputation among public procurement institutions and other strategic stakeholders such as specialty sub-contractors, architects and engineers. Building an infrastructure of sub-trade networks to support the scope of operational objectives and procurement demands – with knowledge of the public works market.
Formulating and completing targeted Requests for Proposals (RFPs), negotiating and administering contractual agreements as well as ensuring regulatory compliance.
