Our current opening is for an APPRENTICE TOOL MAKER
This entry level position will assist Sr. Tool Makers in the functional execution of building tooling.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications of tools, prototypes or models
Prepare templates and sketches, and follow work processes
Compute dimensions and tolerances and set up machine tools
Assist in the building of tooling, and sub-assembly of projects
Assist with tooling repairs, modifications, welds (if trained), die spot, and design changes
Analyze produced molded or die cast die parts Identify concerns and recommend counter measures
Perform corrective, scheduled, and preventative maintenance on equipment
In the absence of a tool build or tool repair project: machine details, assemble fixtures and custom machines and sub-assemblies, clean machines
Test completed tools, jigs or fixtures for proper operation
Consistently model professional and friendly customer service to all employees, customers, and vendors
Skills and Qualifications:
2+ years of tool making experience
Ability to effectively communicate and establish relationships, credibility, and trust with all levels of employees within the organization
Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently, and within a team, to meet project timelines
Able to work with minimal supervision
Ability to read and write English

Drug Test Requirement MS-2: The candidate must pass a drug test. The candidate is responsible for covering the cost of the drug test.
