What does Digital Marketing at Scotia really mean?
Digital Marketing is essentially the first digital touchpoint for customers around the world! Our team partners with a variety of markets in different stages of their digital transformation in places like Canada, Central America, and the Caribbean. We thrive on bringing to life our brand through award-winning marketing campaigns globally.
While creativity is key to the work we do, our eyes light up when we get to work with lots and lots of data (imagine just how much data we have) and we really start having fun when we can roll up our sleeves and get technical. Our days are spent driving acquisition, product discovery, sales, and growth through all of our digital channels – owned, earned, and paid. We acquire, engage, and retain our customers through differentiated digital customer experiences and eCommerce platforms, directly impacting sales through campaigns, engagement and data-driven analysis. Who would I be working with and what are they like?
We’re a close-knit team of energetic, hard-working, fun and innovative folks who come from a variety of backgrounds with broad expertise and experiences - and those differences are what make us stronger. When we’re not transforming the way customer’s bank you can find us organizing fiestas and scavenger hunts - we get together regularly to connect and have fun!
We’re constantly evolving, and love to collaborate to bring forth fresh ideas for process improvements and campaigns, welcoming ongoing learning both within Digital Marketing and beyond to cross-functional teams. We focus on four main areas: Acquisition on Advertising platforms, eCommerce, Online Banking and creating end-to-end digital marketing strategies. We look for ways and tools that help improve the efficiency of customer acquisition through personalization, paid search, SEO, programmatic, display ads, and much more.
A couple of key projects we’ve recently worked on include…
Personalization: Through the use of new and existing tools in our stack, we can create more personalized approaches to target different audiences. We're the first in Canada to get access to beta versions of personalization platforms because our skilled in-house team drives results, and our partners know it.
Scotiabank’s new mobile banking app: While this was a joint effort, the Digital Marketing team played a crucial role in launching the new app to our existing customers, and spreading the word to new customers with the mission of driving digital transformation.
Modernized Tech Stack: We’re scaling best-in-class tech stack tools and strategies across our regions. We orchestrate audience management, site experiences, harness our own data and find audience strategies that can be tested and scaled globally, not just in Canada, but in smaller regions as well.

Digital platform expertise is always preferred
You’re not afraid to work hard and adhere to deadlines.
At times things can change on the fly, so it’s important that you can adapt quickly to lots of moving parts: having previous experience in agile environments is always helpful.
While a technical background in analytics isn’t required, our marketing campaigns are data-driven: an understanding of Google Analytics, Google AdWords, and even Adobe Analytics is a great asset.
