Better Choice Staffing, one of Victoria’s leading staffing and recruitment agencies, is currently recruiting accountants, bookkeepers, and payroll clerks to join its talent pool for a variety of temporary and permanent opportunities with our clients in Greater Victoria, BC.

Accounts Payable/Payroll in Sidney - temp to perm

Accounts Payable Assistant in Saanichton - temporary

Finance Coordinator in downtown Victoria (non for profit) - temporary

Office Administrator/Bookkeeper in in downtown Victoria- temp to perm

Bookkeeping Assistant in downtown Victoria - temp to perm

Accounting Clerk in downtown Victoria - permanent

Payroll Administrator in Saanichton - temporary until April

Locations of Work: Victoria, Saanichton, Sidney, Langford, Colwood

General Duties/Responsibilities may include:

  • Accounts payable and/or accounts receivable
  • Bank reconciliations and discrepancies
  • Data entry using Sage, Quickbooks, or Excel
  • Depositing cheques
  • Month and year-end financial statements
  • Payroll for between 5 and 150 staff (union or non-union)
  • Provide additional support to the accounting department where required

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience in accounting, bookkeeping or payroll (ideally including within Canada)
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting programs (QuickBooks, ORACLE, Sage 50, etc.)
  • Diploma/degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, or other relevant education an asset
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively with both internal management and external customers
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and efficiently manage own workload
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary, Contract, Permanent

Salary: $18.00 to $28.00 /hour
