Yorkville University and Toronto Film School are looking for a skilled Event Coordinator to help plan events hosted by the schools all over Canada and the world. Our Event Coordinator will be instrumental in helping to plan large scale events like graduations, parties, awards banquets and location openings. The event planner will also assist in helping to execute film festivals, fashion shows and interesting livestream events like webinars as well as ensuring the schools are represented well visually at industry events and conferences. They will also plan open houses and admissions tours both domestically and abroad.

This role requires someone who has meaningful insight into what makes a good event. They are someone who can plan and run exceptional Toronto Film School and Yorkville University events and they are a creative force that knows how to use events to elevate the schools.

Our event planner will be collaborative, a consensus builder, highly organized and able to schedule event phases from the end date backwards. This role will work within the communications team but will work closely with the marketing team and admission departments as well as the academic community.

We are looking for someone who is not afraid to roll their sleeves up and get involved in the operational delivery of events. Someone with ambition and who is keen to make this newly developed role their own.


  • Exceptional project planning and great attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal, communications skills (written & verbal) and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to work across departments and work well with the academic community at both schools
  • multitasking and administrative skills who can manage several large-scale events simultaneously
  • demonstrable experience of planning, delivering and managing events, supervising logistics, working with broad teams including professional services and academics, managing suppliers/third parties
  • reporting on the impact of events and making recommendations for future plans.
  • Collaborate to leverage events for content capture opportunities
  • Good presentation skills


  • Degree, diploma or equivalent in event planning or public relations
  • deep experience in the planning and execution of event marketing strategies
  • Minimum of five years of experience in event coordination and administration
  • Demonstrated ability to manage event budgets and timelines
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong work ethic
