Join the T2 team in Ottawa, ON to play an integral role in designating / research tasks in order to locate all existing underground utility facilities, utilizing a wide array of electronic designating equipment to include but not limited to electronic multi-frequency/scanning and ground penetrating radar equipment.

This highly skilled unique position performs all required designating / research tasks in order to locate all existing underground utility facilities utilizing a wide array of electronic designating equipment to include but not limited to electronic multi-frequency/scanning and ground penetrating radar equipment
The ideal candidate will also possess experience in utilizing vacuum excavation type trucks/equipment as well as hand tools to visual excavate and verify such designated utilities
Additional tools and equipment that will be utilized to complete the task will include but not limited to jackhammer, pogo-tamper, concrete saw, compressor blower, vacuum hose and air lance and hand tools
A Drives commercial motor vehicles, however a CDL license is not required
Completes paperwork including record keeping and simple mathematics legibly and accurately
Completes detailed accurate daily reports, forms and field sketches, both electronically as well as draft by hand
Performs related duties such as setting up maintenance of traffic as required, making basic field measurements and performing other simple geophysical prospecting as instructed
Performs daily basic maintenance on vehicles
High School Diploma/GED
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the successful application of utilizing geophysical multi-frequency and ground penetrating radar equipment in the underground utility locating industry such as for a contract utility locating firm and/or a major utility company
Supervisory experience is desired, but not required
Ability to read and interpret utility company prints and design plans
Must have a high level of communication skills
Must be highly organized
Must have excellent problem solving skills
Valid driver's license with clean driving record
Ability to obtain a DOT medical card for CMV operation
Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs.
Ability to perform physical movements and tractions, commensurate with operating heavy tools and equipment
Ability to work outdoors in all climates
Ability to travel up to 50%, including out of town travel for up to two weeks at a time
Experience mapping horizontal alignments of conductive and nonconductive underground Utilities
Field experience collecting sewer chamber information (inverts, obverts, pipe size, material, etc.)
Damage Prevention Technician (DPT 100 or DPT 200) certification
