The Contractor, Enterprise Architect will lead and consult across multiple architectural domains and will provide expert advice and guidance in the development of strategic directions for architecture, roadmaps, principles and best practices. This role will also develop and communicate architectural viewpoints, frameworks, models and designs. The Contractor, Enterprise Architect will build and cultivate strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to understand enterprise wide business IT goals, objectives and strategies. This is a 6 month contract role based in Calgary.

Develop multi-year technology and service roadmaps, plans and strategies, and provide advice to stakeholders on alternatives and solutions, product evaluation, risk assessment, and cost benefit analysis of existing and future technology.
Defines the architecture principles, standards and guidelines regarding the proper use of applications, data, and technology infrastructure.
Works with development and operational teams in recommending process or system designs and enhancements.
Participates in the system specification review process to ensure system requirements can be translated into valid solutions.

Provides architectural expertise and domain knowledge (applications, data and technology infrastructure) to advise & guide IS leaders.

Participates in the creation of conceptual, logical, and physical designs for solutions.
Researches, analyzes, recommends, and selects technical approaches to address challenging development and integration problems with cloud and physical environments.
Maintains awareness of vendor/product industry developments, regulations and trends, and identifies potential impacts to the enterprise.
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science/Business.
Expert knowledge of key architectural concepts and practices and have at least 5 years of architecture experience.
Hands-on experience with architecting enterprise wide solutions for applications and data and technology infrastructure solutions.
Experience in at least 1 architecture framework (for example: TOGAF, Zachman, Lean)
Proven leadership skills, superior influencing skills, and the ability to drive consensus towards a shared common architectural vision/objective.
You will have strong teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to think strategically in a technical environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to articulate complex technical problems.
Demonstrates situational leadership, Influences priorities of work execution, strengthens trust & commitment across the team, fosters a shared direction, and able to make decisions.
Experience working in Oil and Gas industry sector
Knowledge of the primary AWS services (EC2, ELB, RDS, Route53 & S3)
Application migration experience
Application lifecycle management/ Dev Ops
Continuous delivery, continuous integration, and deployment management
Knowledge of agile principles – scrum, backlog, etc.
Working knowledge of managing data center operations, including data assurance, monitoring, alerting and notifications.
