Please note: Positions include a mixture of day and evening shifts. We do not have rotations that include only straight days Monday-Friday.

Part Time and possibly Full Time Positions available.





Innovative Community Support Services (ICSS) is a non-profit charitable organization that is committed to creating and providing families & individuals with innovative, high quality and cost effective community based programs and services that promote a strong sense of well-being while making a positive contribution to our culturally diversified community.

ICSS is currently looking for Residential Support Workers. Under the supervision of a Residential Supervisor, the Residential Support Worker will provide support, structure and supervision the clients placed in our residences. Through a team approach and the use of relevant community experiences and resources, the Residential Support Worker establishes and maintains an enriched and supportive environment for the individuals in order that they may have the highest quality of life as possible. This includes ensuring that their daily living needs are met in the highest manner as defined by the agency’s policies and procedures and as directed by management.

Most of our residences are located in Orleans which has public transportation however some are in rural Cumberland/Navan and also Rockland.

A valid Ontario Driver's License is required for SOME positions.

Educational Requirements:

  • DSW, CYW, SSW or 3 years’ experience in the field in a similar environment
  • First Aid and CPR Training and preferably CPI Training
  • Experience and ability to deal with challenging behaviours and crisis situations

Experience Requirements:

  • Experience working with special needs clients
  • Experience in medication administration
  • G-tube care and feeding (asset). Not required for all positions
  • Total personal care experience mandatory for some positions


  • Ensure all social needs are being met in the aspects of community involvement; research possibilities for outings/activities that may be suitable for the resident
  • Provide assistance to individuals with daily living as required including teaching basic skills such as: meal preparation and nutrition, housekeeping, laundry and shopping in hopes that eventually the individuals will become self-sufficient
  • Support each individual to develop skills and assume roles which promote his or her effective participation in the community
  • Implement supports for individuals to achieve personal goals and new skills as established through individual support plans and ISP
  • Provide support to the residents in the area of personal care; works with other staff to ensure each resident is awake, fed and dressed for the day within the required time frame
  • Ensure that the residence remains safe (Health & Safety, fire drills) and clean at all times
  • Participate in training / upgrading opportunities to enhance the level of care and skill being offered to the residents
  • Adhere to medication administration Policies and Procedures
  • Follow all recording and reporting procedures

Extra Skills Required:

  • Co-operation, requires a pleasant attitude and displays a good natured manner in working with residents and co-workers
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • English communication skills, the ability to follow instructions and complete written forms and reports
