Position Title: Presales Solutions Architect – Data and Analytics
The Presales Solutions Architect (SA) drives customer initiatives for Data and Analytics solutions in collaboration with the Stratiform Sales teams. This includes influencing the sale, deployment, and adoption of Data and Analytics software and services.
The SA is a technical, customer-facing role that is accountable for the end-to-end customer design and deployment experience. The SA is a thought leader and can talk in terms of business objectives and outcomes and tie them directly to technology vision.
Working in conjunction with Technical Consultants and Practice Leads, the SA owns the technical customer engagement including architectural design sessions (white boarding) and/or Proofs of Concepts. The ideal candidate will have experience in customer facing roles and success leading deep technical architecture and data analytics design discussions with senior customer executives to drive software and services revenue.
Understand client's overall data estate, IT and business priorities and success measures to design implementation architectures and solutions.
Provide presales expertise on data and analytics offerings to our clients.
Apply technical knowledge to architect solutions that meet business and IT needs, create Data Platform, AA/AI roadmaps, and ensure long term technical viability of new deployments, infusing key analytics and AI technologies where appropriate (e.g. Azure ML, ML Server, BOT framework, Cognitive Services, Big Data, Data Lake, Azure Databricks, etc.)
Drive services and software offerings in our client environments and provide appropriate recommendations to overcome blockers.
Derive strategies for data extraction, data ingestion and data quality. Design of the data visualization format and define rules for anomaly and edge analytics.
Manage end to end analytics modeling process (development to production deployment and postproduction support for the analytics model)
Establish deep relationships with key IT and business decision makers who drive IT strategy and technical adoption within their company.
Lead the end-to-end design of a proposed solution, including the preparation of customer presentations, configurations, statements of work, budgetary proposals, and detailed diagrams.
Provide regular and timely pipeline and forecast updates.
Develop IP for service offerings – templates, best practices, architecture and design documents, training/knowledge transfer packs.
Provide mentorship and internal support to a peer group of consultants.
In partnership with the sales team, identify, qualify and grow data analytic opportunities within our customer base.
Work closely with the Professional Services delivery organization to ensure that capabilities are aligned, and client expectations are met.
Participate in the preparation of sales campaigns, business plans, and technology heat maps for prospects.
Provide market intelligence to various teams and participate in the development of future solution strategies and service/solution offerings.
Keep up to date with market trends and competitive insights including participating in the broader IT industry through events, blogs, whitepapers, and articles and attending vendor-related training, webinars, and conferences as required.
Present at internal and external marketing and industry events.
Educate and develop sales teams on how to identify opportunities and sell data and analytics solutions.
Provide senior technical direction and escalation within projects.
Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external relationships with multiple vendors and partners.
Key Experience, Skills and Knowledge
7+ years of success in consultative/complex technical sales and deployment projects, architecture, design, implementation, and/or support of highly distributed applications.
2+ years hands on experience providing a breadth of architecture leadership around Big Data, Cloud Analytics, Data Visualization, Data Integration, Data Science, Machine Learning, Data Platforms, and Data Integration with Microsoft Cloud technologies.
3+ years implementing large scale data projects within the cloud environment
Experience in Azure SQL DB/DW, Service Bus, Azure IOT/Event Hub, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lakes, Azure HDInsight.
Experience with advanced analytics including Azure Data Bricks, visualization tools as PowerBI, Tableau.
Experience proving architectural guidance and advising or leading strategic decisions on the acquisition of analytics platforms.
Experience scoping, sizing and assisting with the sale of cloud and/or SaaS software solutions.
Demonstrated experience of successfully presenting architectural strategies and having those strategies adopted.
Knowledge of the following would be advantageous: Microsoft security concepts, SQL, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, network security, automation, infrastructure migration to cloud platforms, and PaaS adoption.
Knowledge of cloud development platforms.
Ability to build deep technical relationships with senior executives and grow our footprint within large or highly strategic accounts.
