Job Overview

Reports to: Foreman, Field Service

Shift: 7x7 shift, 12 hours per shift

Location: Various customer mine sites

Relocation: This position does not offer relocation.

Responsibilities
Maintenance, repair, service and inspection of the mining equipment including shovels and drills
Able to diagnose faults and malfunctions
Adjust, repair or replace all defective equipment parts, components or systems serviced at customer sites
Test the repaired equipment for proper performance
Maintain a safe and clean work environment
Able to travel and work in remote locations (90%)
Experience using Micrometers to measure tight tolerances
Must be able to work with minimal supervision and lead a group of trades and apprentices within the field environment
Skills & Qualifications
Ability to work in absence of direct supervision and make recommendations based on experience and
Joy Global/Komatsu best practices
Ability to lead a team of trades and meet deadlines and develop field service capabilities
Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic Certification including Red Seal Certification
3-5 years of mining or construction related experience working on shovels and drills
Previous experience work with Komatsu products would be a benefit
Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals relating to manufacturer specifications and warranty environments
Must have a demonstrated ability to efficiently diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair issues in mechanical systems common to mining and/or construction equipment products
Experience in a customer facing role and a sound understanding of the importance of customer relationships
Good organizational and planning skills
Strong attention to detail and able to work within the framework of multiple deadlines
Hold a strong standard for quality and safety
Have a team oriented approach and thought process
Basic computer knowledge and ability to complete reports when required
Ability to interface with the custimer and assist in whatever capacity when required
May be required to travel to various and sometimes remote job locations for extended periods of time and be based in a camp
