Summary Description:

Provide exceptional service with our customers and internal staff. Responsible for achieving full occupancy of multi-residential apartment portfolio by maximizing leasing capabilities and strategies while supporting the marketing plan. Provide professional and welcoming environment as the company’s first impression to prospective tenants.


  • Ensure effective leasing of units including enquiries, viewings and facilitation of application and leasing process with related paperwork
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and market conditions including market analysis of existing and new stock, finishes, rental incentives, design and amenities
  • Establish and maintain site leasing office for new construction
  • Prepare various monthly, quarterly and annual reports to assist with leasing strategies
  • Prepare and execute leasing plan with recommendations including pricing, incentives and leasing targets
  • Monitor and maintain advertising initiatives including signage, newspapers, online advertising and websites
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive file and communication systems for prospective tenants and status
  • Confirm properties are market ready including units, common areas and amenity spaces
  • Provide additional support in leasing efforts for the entire company residential portfolio

Education / Training:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field marketing, advertising, public relations or business administration
  • Certified Leasing Officer

Related Experience:

  • Minimum three years’ experience in this industry or related field of work
  • Property Management industry
  • Sales and/or Customer Service Representative
  • Residential Leasing and/or hospitality industry

Skills / Knowledge:

  • Excellent computer skills including MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
  • Marketing skills related to social media, website management, event organization and survey software
  • Familiarity of applicable policies and legislation relating to marketing, leasing of property and resident/landlord relations including leasing agreements and Nova Scotia Residential Tenancy Act
  • Excellent phone manner
  • Thorough understanding of competing properties and market conditions

  • Customer service and sales orientated with strong negotiation and persuasion skills

Work Conditions:

  • Primarily based in an office or temporary leasing station.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, and climb stairs for extended periods of time
  • Exposed to outside weather conditions and occasional high noise levels
  • Local travel requiring a reliable vehicle for daily transportation, valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance
  • Extended work hours at times including evenings, weekends, holidays and serve on-call to facilitate viewings and accept telephone enquiries
