Department Overview:
The TD Securities Chief Data Office (TDS-CDO) supports the overall vision of organizing data as a strategic asset to enable TD Securities to:

Service our clients, monetize data and allocate financial resources objectively;
Manage risk and regulatory compliance effectively, and;
Achieve technology and operational efficiencies

The TDS-CDO is made up of the following pillars, which supports the vision of being an established centre-of-excellent to organize, govern and monetize the strategic data assets of TD Securities:

Strategy: Responsible for managing overall programs, budgets and communication
Reference Data Management: Responsible for developing and enhancing the reference data strategy, including data master management
Transaction & Market Data Management: Responsible for the tooling and onboarding of key data management programs in our Authoritative Data Sources, including metadata, lineage and data quality management
Governance: Responsible for the overall policy management, stewardship and data usage across TD Securities

Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Governance in the Chief Data Office, the Senior Manager will be responsible to help build the Data Governance Organization for TD Securities, across all of the lines of businesses, including support of the Data Stewardship Model. This experienced data professional will have expertise in data management & governance as well as data lifecycle management. The successful candidate will have the skills to foster and grow strong relationships, across all levels of Management, and influence change.

Job Accountabilities:
Responsible for managing the TDS data stewardship community in accordance with the Enterprise Data Policy, Standards and Strategy and to ensure that teams adheres to the policy
Act as a strategic partner by leading relationships with key enterprise partners and interfacing with respective leadership team to effectively manage TDS' data governance / management area and clarify scope of accountabilities while influencing and aligning others as needed
Develop, communicate and implement a holistic strategy for TDS' specific data governance / management function in support of and integrated with the overall business strategy
Recognized as a subject matter expert with significant in-depth and/or breadth of expertise in the Data Management & Governance field and knowledge of broader related areas
Contribute to the strategic direction of the data governance / management function and play a key role in the development and implementation of strategies in support of the overall data strategy
Lead / support the LoB's Segment Data Council/CDO forum
Plan, lead / manage and/or oversee a diverse set of work activities requiring alignment across multiple areas, including projects, policies, processes, procedures and changes across multiple functional areas
Work effectively with multiple teams across a broad spectrum of initiatives and functional domains, influencing and aligning others as needed
Provide functional / business level communications to ensure messages to stakeholders and / or employees are consistent, appropriate and aligned to business strategies and executive management direction
Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts
Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite
Establish a strong culture of commitment and ownership within the team.
Demonstrate TD Framework and shared commitments in daily activities.

Job Requirements

Education/Accreditations:
Undergraduate degree or technical certificate and /or
10+ years relevant experience

Other Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
Advanced knowledge of data governance/data management practices, enterprise data policy, standards &strategy
Advanced knowledge of LOB data strategy, data risk management, and data life cycle management
Knowledge of current and emerging competitor and market trends
Skill in mentoring, coaching and performance management
Skill in using analytical software tools, data analysis methods and reporting techniques
Advanced ability to lead, plan, implement and evaluate program/project activities to ensure completion of initiatives
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across teams and functions
Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently
Ability to exercise sound judgement in making decisions
Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines
Ability handle confidential information with discretion
Ability to contribute to strategic direction of the function and provide advice to senior leadership
Ability to forecast initiatives and demand in order to develop annual strategic plan
