The Role

We are looking for a bright, motivated and results driven Business Development Associate to join our Toronto operations. Reporting to the Director, Business Development in our Vancouver head office, this Toronto based position will play a critical role in the company’s growth as we continue to expand our presence in Ontario. It is a great opportunity for a junior professional with an interest in sales, client relations and/or marketing who is looking for a flexible, part-time 6-month contractor position working remotely from home.

The role will build upon and reinforce Normac’s market position by identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining strategic relationships with real estate professionals and supporting marketing initiatives. The work is diverse, challenging and rewarding and allows you to be hands-on and wear multiple hats as we expand our operations in Ontario.

Required Education

A Bachelor’s Degree

Identify, qualify leads, and close on new clients, markets, and geographic territories.
Prepare proposals and follow up until sales cycle is complete.
Maintain and expand existing business relationships to maximize revenue through meetings, lunch-and-learns, and other value-added events.
Attend industry events as the company’s representative.
Develop marketing strategies and techniques to maximize Normac’s business opportunities.
Contribute to regional marketing materials including, but not limited to, blog posts and social media activity.
Gain industry knowledge through education, publications, networks, and professional organizations.
Uphold Normac customer service to the highest standards.
Administrative support duties as required.
Skills and Qualifications

Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in sales, client relations, and/or marketing.
Strong sales aptitude including prospecting, negotiating and closing skills.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.
A positive, high-energy and professional attitude with a desire to win by satisfying clients needs.
High emotional intelligence with the ability to connect with and adapt to various audiences.
Ability to strategize, understand the market and find areas for growth and improvement.
A history of consistently meeting targets and goals.
Ability to work autonomously and as a team player; a self-starter with a strong drive to succeed.
Hands-on, resourceful and a self-motivated personality.
Ability to multi-task and maintain strong attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to wear multiple hats and assist the team as required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PPT), Outlook and similar platforms.
Experience using CRM software is an asset.

This is a part-time 6-month contractor position, with a possibility of extension, for a candidate based in Toronto, ON. For this position, the remuneration will be dependent upon number of hours worked on business development activities, so it will vary month-to-month. The ideal candidate must be flexible and able to work remotely from home.
