  • Developmental Service Worker Diploma, BA in a Social Science, Social Service Worker, PSW, Child Youth Worker, post- secondary students with experience in the sector.
  • Working with people who have a developmental disability in their community.
  • Interpersonal skills in communicating and counseling the people receiving support.
  • Creative skills to develop support strategies to enable people to achieve the outcomes that are most important to them.
  • Teaching skills to support people to enhance their skills and abilities.
  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Valid First Aid, CPR and CPI. Pharmacology preferred.
  • Understanding of responsibilities under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • G license

Required education:

College Diploma or equivalent

Required experience:

Support Care: 1 year
