Our team of front end developers are responsible for the development of web applications including including wireframing and storyboarding, functional prototypes and translating mockups to fully functional and responsive finished products. About you

As a front end web developer, you will have an extraordinary amount of curiosity. You are someone who likes to gain deeper understanding of your projects before you start to find workable solutions for those projects. You have an intermediate level of proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript along with a basic understanding of libraries like React, Vue, and jQuery, frameworks like Angular and node, and also tools like Gulp, Docker, npm, and Grunt. You are a self-starter with amazing communication and problem solving skills. You enjoy the process of discovery and appreciate corporate culture and working within constraints. Lastly, you are also known by your peers of being a courageous and kind individual.

Some of your responsibilities will include:
Develop new user-facing features
Build reusable code and libraries for future use
Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
Contribute to overall creative & graphic design governance for ATB’s Internal Agency;
Propose tools and make recommendations as needed for ATB’s Intranet/Internet website budget
Design, build and monitor applications for ATB’s Internet/Intranet websites
Research and plan for changing user requirements and technology advances
Keep current with other financial institutions’ Internet and Intranet web sites and development practices
Develop interactive marketing tools to support business
Provide assistance in other marketing reporting needs
Determine and recommend the resources necessary for web operations
Job Requirements

A front end developer will have:
University degree, or post-secondary accreditation in a related field and 1-3 years experience in front end development
A moderate level of proficiency in HTML, CSS, SCSS/SASS, and JavaScript.
Experience with database structures and custom metrics reporting
Ability to work with both a team and independently
Customer-focused and results driven
A strong interest in learning some frameworks such as React, Vue, Angular, Handlebars, jQuery, and Javascript.
Understanding of Agile methodologies and their relation to front end development.
Basic understanding of automated testing frameworks and accessibility standard implementations.
Strong willingness to self learn applications such as npm, grunt, gulp, docker, github, bitbucket, the google cloud platform.
Some basic understanding of the gitflow approach to developmental work.
Familiarity with tools like the Adobe creative suite, Sketch, and Zeplin.
Familiarity with WCMS’s like Directus, Episerver, Gatsby and Hugo.
