The Corporate Compliance team’s overall mandate is to oversee and manage regulatory compliance issues within the company. The group effectively supports business areas in their duty to comply with relevant laws, regulations and internal procedures. This is accomplished by promoting a sound compliance culture identifying measuring and managing regulatory and other risk the company faces, while fostering a culture of respect, trust and integrity.

Position Responsibilities

Risk Management & Compliance, in adhering to applicable compliance obligations, including Privacy, Anti-Money Laundering/Anti-Terrorist Financing and internal Anti-Fraud Policy requirements, must remain the over-arching focus in carrying out one’s responsibilities as outlined below:

Advisory (10%)

Support the assessment of AML risks; the development of control measures to i) prevent and deter financial crime activities, ii) detection and monitoring of financial crime, and iii) responding to financial crime incidents
Support the implementation of procedural and internal controls designed to ensure compliance with the Company’s legislative and regulatory requirements associated to the Company’s Anti-Money Laundering/Anti-Terrorist Financing and Anti-Fraud Policies
Report to the Head of the FCIU on material instances of non-compliance; and
Promote accountability and ownership for the AML/ATF & Anti-fraud management programs

Operational Compliance (80%)

Financial Crime Detection and Monitoring:
Support Financial Crimes Investigations alert management activities including
First level review and analysis of AML/ATF automated transaction alerts
First level review and analysis of Fraud alerts
First level review of customer screening alerts (sanctions, high risk, negative media); and
Supporting investigations and reporting as required.
Monitoring activities related to investigations on referrals from internal or external sources; account activity related to suspect events; review external parties (e.g., brokers, solicitors) activity to identify potential abuse or collusion and where required monitor potential financial crime activity by employees

Credit Card Fraud and Other Support Activities:
Support transaction monitoring for Visa including risk reporting and case analysis; and
Support Visa Operations with cardholder contact, account blocks, validate possible fraud activity, including restriction of accounts and requesting additional cardholder fulfilment requirements.

Training & Communications (5%)

Participate in FCIU training initiatives
Maintain documentation, records and reports for Internal Audit and Regulators and assist with with supporting regulatory examinations and reviews associated to the Financial Crimes Investigation Unit
Assist where required on compliance related quality assurance reviews and other monitoring program requirements

Formal Education
Bachelor's degree required in Business or equivalent
Certification(s)/Designation(s) preferred in related area
Related Experience
Minimum of 2-3 years in AML/ATF Compliance or general industry experience in financial services or related activities.
