The Sanitation Group Lead provides oversight of the Sanitation operations at both Plats du Chef Facilities in Vaughan to ensure effective Sanitation Services are delivered for all areas and drives improvements in Quality, Efficiency and on time delivery of Sanitation services by our contractor. This position monitors sanitation activities, follows up on identified deficiencies and continuously improves our sanitation program so that it continues to meet all regulatory, Quality and food safety program requirements. The Group Lead maintains records to ensure chemicals and supplies are ordered as required, and invoices are reviewed and approved in a timely manner. The lead hand ensures the contract cleaning services are in compliance with the master sanitation schedule and ensures that plant Health and Safety requirements are met at all times. The group lead accompanies the contractors on daily plant inspections and during audits, and participates in huddle meetings and other communications to ensure awareness and correction of issues is carried out. The group lead ensures issues are well communicated daily to all required parties and ensures the contractor is updated on issues found and improvements needed on a daily basis. The position ensures the production schedule is communicated to the sanitation contractor as it changes to ensure we have adequate coverage.
Sanitation Function Oversight and Direction

Oversees and is enforces safe and thorough execution of sanitation services provided by the sanitation contractor.
Enforce and ensure that established cleaning practices are followed by staff.
Ensure Sanitation employees are adequately trained and works with contractor to resolves training if deficiencies are found.
Ensure daily activities are carried out and enforce priorities.
Optimize work methods where possible
Keep detailed records and follow up on all sanitation-related activities and issues, such as inspections, violations, deficiencies, and corrective actions.
Work with QA to Maintain the Master Sanitation Schedule as per company guidelines, ensuring all daily, weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-annual and Annual tasks are performed and documented.
Ensure the master sanitation schedule is accurate and adequate to maintain compliance of the facility to CFIA, SQF and Quality Food Safety Requirements.
Maintain sanitation chemical inventory
Participate in the visual pre-op inspection at the end of the cleaning process in order to ensure that the lines meet the required standards and follow up on identified deficiencies in a timely manner
Ensure all personnel safety, food safety and GMP expectations are followed during Sanitation operations.
Ensure compliance to HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) requirements for Food Safety.
Ensure Quality and SQF requirements are met on an ongoing basis during Sanitation activities.
Ensure health and safety compliance is in place throughout sanitation activities.
Support and Prioritize corrective actions that are raised by the JHSC following their monthly audits.
Encourage and sustain a work environment that represents team work, communication, respect and high performance
Support Production activities that may be occurring during the sanitation shift and guide production on requirements for equipment and room preparations to ensure Sanitation is as effective as possible.
Other duties as assigned when needed
Requirements

3 to 5 years experience in a similar role within a food manufacturing environment
Strong leadership, organization and management skills
Strong knowledge of food safety and Health & Safety regulations
Strong computer skills (word, excel)
Available to work on the night shift
Strong communication, problem solving and decision making skills
Excellent team spirit

Working conditions:
Available to work a flexible overnight shift schedule including weekends as required to support the operational needs of a cyclical manufacturing operation during both peak and low seasons.
Comfortable working in a refrigerated environment
Able to perform sometimes physically strenuous activity
Will be required to work with food allergens and with sanitization chemicals
