To help continue fuel our growth, we are looking for a detail-oriented, highly skilled Software Engineer in Test to expand our Technology team. You are a developer who specializes in writing code to test the product and have extensive experience in writing test cases and creating automated scripts. Our Technology team goes above and beyond to ensure our software systems are robust and highly maintainable. This role will report to the Manager of Quality Assurance. This is a full-time position in our downtown Vancouver HQ, walking distance from shops, restaurants, and public transit.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
You will drive growth in the team's automation coverage including design and implementation of the test framework
Plan, execute, monitor automated tests to analyze and publish results and interpretation, within scheduled deadlines
Setup test data as required to reproduce issues and execute positive, negative and edge case automation testing
Follow the process for defect management, release testing and overall product quality assurance
Create and maintain automated test process documentation, scripts and tools
Collect and provide test metrics and reports
As needed, assist support with reproducing, diagnosing and resolving customer issues
Mentor and lead QA staff to ensure high quality output
Take charge and ownership of all things automated QA regression
Experience in the development, design and maintenance of an automation framework and library of automated tests for web API clients, REST and/or SOAP
Proven test development experience. In this position you will spend more than 75% of the time writing code, so strong development skills are required
Strong experience in using industry standard tools to develop and maintain automated user acceptance test suites and tying them into the Continuous Integration process
Solid experience writing and executing automation test scripts using software testing frameworks such as Selenium Webdriver, Cucumber, SOAPUI, etc
Strong experience with source control systems such as Bitbucket, Git, SVN, Mercurial
Able to work independently with minimum supervision
Proficient in the English language with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are a must
Education and Experience:
BSc degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent experience
3+ years of experience with relevant organizations undertaking responsibilities of a Software Engineer in Test of a similar capacity
