Aurora Cannabis is looking for a Security Guard to join us at the Sun facility in Medicine Hat, AB. Employees in this role will be expected to work day and night shifts on a rotational schedule (7 on / 7 off, 12 hour shifts). Reporting to the Security Shift Lead, this position will be responsible for, but not limited to, performing the following duties:

Perform interior/ exterior patrols according to SOPs, including: checking cameras, ensuring other staff following security protocols, and monitoring front gate for entering/ exiting staff, contractors, and visitors
Follow and understand all documentation procedures and SOPs to GMP standards
Sign in/out all visitors, new staff, and contractors, including: assigning badges, assigning security clearances, and filling out proper documentation
Manage security system and all alarms, including: filling out deviation reports, following all SOPs in regard to alarms, liaising with Alarm company, signing out keys, and disarming/arming doors as requests by A/RPICs or SPICs
Answer phones in security office
Advise, and maintain good communication with all departments
Advise security staff of any relevant changes/ notices at start of shift and record all necessary information on security documents
Provide training, leadership, and guidance to Security staff
Assist with conflict resolution within the division
Manage all supplies and other needs for security department
Attend and participate in meetings as required
Travel for training and support at other company owned locations may be required

Minimum 3+ years’ experience in the security industry
Must hold a valid Alberta Security Guard License
EMR strongly preferred
Valid Class 5 Drivers Licence non GDL and able to provide a clean abstract
CPO / CSO Designation or pursuing is desirable
Experience / knowledge working in a Control Centre, Access Control Systems, CCTVs, Gallagher and Milestone Systems preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Valid Standard First Aid with CPR / AED, minimum
Flexible schedule for shifts
Ability to manage stressful situations and maintain a high level of professionalism
Knowledge of the Criminal Code of Canada is considered an asset
NCSO Designation or working towards is preferred

Must be able to pass a background check mandated by Health Canada
