As an active member of our vibrant and highly engaged Operations team you will apply your focus, passion, and abilities to a variety of applications, related to the building of advanced state of the art electro-mechanical stabilization platforms, motion control systems, camera and lens control systems, video processing technologies, remote I/O subsystems, and the integration and control of various laser technologies.

The Electronics Assembly Technician role at PV Labs will interface with Engineering and Operations group and Project Management to meet Production schedules to support Customer Requirements.


General Functions:

The Electronics Assembly Technician is part of the PV Labs Operations team assigned to projects ranging from prototype development to low volume, high variability product assembly and test. You will assemble electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies to established assembly procedures, test requirements and schedules. You will work as part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team manufacturing and servicing advanced products.

Specific Responsibilities:

This position will include the following responsibilities:

  • Assemble, test, adjust and troubleshoot electronic, electromechanical and optical assemblies. Items include, but not limited to, circuit card population (SMT), wire harness assembly, and wire harness routing.
  • Troubleshoot, repair or rework existing assemblies to the component level.
  • Work with Engineering on development, particularly the manufacturability of new product.
  • Complete build and test records and other related documentation.
  • Assist in investigating, developing and implementing new test instructions and manufacturing procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned



  • IPC training (any of 600, 610, 620, 711, 1021)
  • 5+ years of electronics assembly experience
  • Education in an electronics field an asset (diploma or certificate)
  • Familiar working in an ISO facility
