We are looking for a Site Planner/Scheduler to work alongside some of the industry’s best talent and take the role of planning lead on multiple projects.

To perform this role successfully, the successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

Ensure the production of fully integrated project schedule in the format required by project team that includes design, procurement, consents, construction and commissioning across a variety of projects.
Provide expertise and ensure that all projects are planned to a standard meeting industry and company good practice thus reducing risk / exposure to project margins from time related issues.
Communicate the planning strategy to the project teams and senior management.
Ensure preparation and presentation of schedule reports and progress on all aspects of the project, and to attend and contribute to site meetings and other associated meetings.
Provide technical supports to ensure that the project schedule is maintained to client’s satisfaction.
Support overall commissioning team producing the commissioning and start-up plan and associated deliverables.
Coordinate with multiple contractors in a constructive way to reach a common commissioning plan.
Conduct schedule contingency planning, and provide recommendations for corrective action due to delays in certain aspects of the project.
Work with client staff and sub-contractors to develop and status schedules for their project components.
Define and optimize critical paths, perform total float analysis and notify project management status of critical activities and schedule risks.
Support monitoring of contract actual progress versus planned progress, key performance indicators, and provide exception reporting.
Perform schedule risk analysis on a periodic basis or as required.
Seek innovation in scheduling and execution plans that could improve project economics.
Developing construction field installation work packages (FIWPs) schedule based on level 4 and integration with engineering / procurement work packages.
Maintaining liaison with project team regarding scheduling activities and assisting them in determining schedule priorities.
Provide guidance and direction to the planning and scheduling team to meet operational demands and ensure a timely and efficient support services.
Mentor and coach members of the planning and scheduling team by setting a positive tone for communication and collaboration within the department and with other departments.

Qualifications:
Post-secondary education or University Engineering Degree (preferred).
Minimum 8 years work experience in a similar position.
Relevant experience on mining and metallurgy projects.
Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
Excellent time management skills
Knowledge of Primavera P6 & MS project scheduling software
Proactive detailed oriented, and have a good knowledge of planning techniques.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships with client, subcontractors and staff at all levels.
